Visit with the Easter Bunny

Today Alicia and I went to the mall so the kids could see the Easter Bunny.
Caeden and Noah went first...Caeden smiled, Noah looked a little scared.
Brylee went next. She was definitely fascinated by Mr. Easter Bunny. We did manage to get a few smiles. Here is the final pic (scanned photo)...the $17 pic I should say. (ridiculous!).

Chicago...spring break!

I had a great time on spring break in Chicago. The weather was pretty chilly and windy...except yesterday of course (our last day), but despite the chilly weather Erin B. and I had a great time. Some highlights included:
massages, pedicure (for me), shopping of course!, food...at Gino's pizza, burgers at Weber Grill, mexican food, drinks on the 96th floor of the Hancock building, the dualing piano bar, a trolley ride around the city including a stop at Navy pier, etc.  All in all...it was great 4 days! Even better that we flew and the flight is an hour and 15 minutes! Sure beats the drive! We also stayed at a cute little hotel...the Inn of Chicago. Highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be close to the action. 1/2 block from the magnificent mile.
Here are some pics from the trip.

Look at this cool building looking up from the ground...great architecture!

A look at the city from Navy pier.

more cool buildings. No, people don't park their cars by that themselves....all parked cars have to use valet.

I had to take a pic of this sign...as this was one of the names in the running instead of Brylee.

our hotel.

Gino's pizzeria...you can write on the walls. Amazing deep dish Chicago style pizza!
A view of Chicago from the 96th floor of the Hancock building...amazing!

Sunset view from the Hancock building. What a view!

Dorothy Dress and pic overload!

Yes, I know there are a TON of pics. However, I will be gone this weekend....so I won't be able to post. Took these the other day and couldn't resist. I call this her Dorothy Dress...you know, in reference to the wizard of oz. Brylee has 2 toto dogs though... and no Ruby shoes (yet!).
Hope everyone is having a good week. I am so pumped for Chicago (Saturday-Tuesday).

Diary of a Personal Trainer's wife...

Today’s blog post is quite different from my usual picture post of my favorite subject Brylee. This post is about my other favorite subject I suppose…the hubby (depending on the day (j/k!)).

Anyways, I don’t know if the nice weather has got people motivated again or what…but it seems that lately every time I turn around someone is asking me about Darryl’s job and inquiring about training with him or their desire to, what it’s like being married to a personal trainer, etc. Not to worry…I am more than happy to answer questions or send new clients his way (e.g. which I did! one of the parents of 2 kids I service at school just starting group training with Darryl)…small world in Edina!

So, here are some of the questions/comments I get the most and my responses

Q: Does your husband make you work out?

A: no, he does not make me do anything…including working out!

Q: Does he design work outs for you?

A: yes and no. Let me clarify. Yes, he would if I asked. No…because I usually don’t ask!

Q: Do you guys eat super healthy?

A: I think we eat pretty healthy, but we are not calorie counters, dieters, etc. He loves sweets and I love the salties. So, we try to stay balanced.

Comment: it must be hard being married to a personal trainer!

My response: not really. Darryl never pushes me to work-out. He has been that way since I met him. Sometimes it provides good motivation for me to work out and have a nice physique (just like my hubby) However, most of the time it just annoys me that he is fit and I am not at the same level of fitness nor am I as motivated!

Comment: it must be nice being married to a personal trainer!

Response: Yes, it is. Free membership to the gym (when I go). Great insight into nutrition and fitness, products, etc and a healthy lifestyle.

Q: Do you go to the gym a lot? (My favorite question btw!)

A: come on people….you know the answer. NO!

Well, actually it depends on the season!  In the summer I go more for 2 reasons

1) yes, you guessed it… I am off, so I have more time (with the exception of last summer because Brylee was too little)

2) the club in Lakeville…I mean resort in Lakeville has an awesome pool!

My favorite workout is the Nintendo Wii. I am not joking either. Easy to do when Brylee is napping or asleep for the night. The Wii EA Sports Active is my favorite…and yes, it does kick your butt.

That’s all for now…please post any other questions or comments you would like to share!

Happy Getting in shape season!

Yours Truly,
The Personal Trainer's wife.

springtime happiness

Brylee and I had some fun today. Spring is in the air....and I couldn't resist putting her in her tulle dress that I made (not my best work, but it didn't turn out half bad!)

Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather...it makes such a difference!
Sorry for the pic overload...I know I am insane! And yes, I know I probably need an intervention!
