7 months old

Brylee is 7 months old tomorrow! I know I say this every time, but time has sure flown by!
Here are some things Little Miss Brylee is doing:
  •  She has learned to clap when we say "yeah" or in response to "patty cake" (see video link above)
  • She is now eating baby food at all 3 meals. We have even ventured into meats recently. She is a pretty good eater. Bananas are probably her least favorite. She loves her cereal, we have ventured now to oatmeal!
  • She loves making silly faces, especially the one where she scrunches up her nose and makes a weird hissing sound. It is quite amusing to both her and anyone who sees it!
  • She loves to observe new surroundings and people watch!
  • She sits up on her own and will play contently on the floor with her toys.
  • She loves to pet the doggies and grins at them when she sees them.
  • She has 6 teeth! (4 on top and 2 on the bottom!)
  • She is one curious, content, lovable little girl!

Turkeys, Christmas Trees, and a Birthday....(one busy week!)

We have had a busy week. We celebrated Thanksgiving day at my parent's house. It was a fun day shared with family and of course lots of food! This year we are thankful for our little girl, (as she continues to bring such joy into our lives), and our wonderful families and friends who always support us.

On Friday afternoon we got out the Christmas decorations
and tree and luckily we got everything done
while Brylee was napping (great timing!).

Last night, Darryl and I went to Bonfire restaurant on Grand Av. in St. Paul to celebrate my friend, Erin Bartlett's 30th Birthday. It was a lot of fun and was great to get out of the house for awhile.

So...another busy, awesome week down
and more busy awesome weeks to go until Christmas.

Congrats to Erin and Happy Birthday to Donovan!

I am a little late posting this, but last week my best friend Erin since the 6th grade (Mrs. Wieger's homeroom), had a baby boy named William Vincent on Friday, November 13th (a lucky day indeed). He is a tiny little guy, but ohhh so cute! I am so happy for her and Adam and I know they will be great parents! I can't wait to meet him at Christmas time. You can check out her blog to see some more pictures by clicking on Erin.

Also, today is Donovan's 1st birthday. This little guys parents are Laura and Andy. Laura and I met in college and lived in Pioneer Hall together. Last year Darryl and I trekked on up to Duluth to visit them in the hospital. I was 4 1/2 months pregnant at that time and throwing up daily, but at the same time was so excited that we would be meeting our little baby in a few short months.

RIP Bailey (aka B- Bay)

Today a dear, beloved, pet passed away....our dear friend Bailey (or B-Bay). He will be truly missed! He has been such a great dog and we always joked that he was just like a person! He was the smartest, kindest, and friendliest dog. Not to mention, one of the cutest dogs ever!
Dogs become members of the family and he will always be in our hearts!

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Baptism

Today we celebrated Brylee's baptism. Eric (Darryl's brother) and Amy (my cousin) were Brylee's sponsors. Brylee did really well through the church service and we made it through without any crying! :) We celebrated at my parent's house afterwards with soups, croissant sandwiches, and of course cake! Thanks to everyone for the gifts! Here are a few pictures from today.

half a year...

Brylee turned 6 months old last Sunday the 1st...(yes I know I am a little late posting!). Time has gone by so fast...I can't believe she is a half a year old! Crazy!

Here are some of the things little miss Brylee is doing at 6 months:
* she loves making noises, yelling, and laughing!
* she loves to pet the dogs and grab some fur!
* she LOVES books...looking at the pics, reading with mommy and daddy, and eating them too!
* she is beginning to enjoy her baby food. We have only tried the fruits so far. She does not like peaches or bananas, but like applesauce and prunes! She also loves her cereal. Today she even tried juice from a sippy cup! Big GIRL!
* she loves being outside and going to the mall! She is a people watcher just like her mama!
* she continues to be such a happy, easy going baby! (we are so blessed!)
* She weighs in at a whopping (just kidding, she is quite petite) 15.1 lbs and is 25.5 inches long.
