5 months old....got my party headband on!

Look at my party headband!Big smile
Another big smile!

Sitting up...what a big girl!
Brylee is now 5 months old (tomorrow). She is so much fun and is so interactive!
  • She loves to vibrate her lips and make that funny sound!
  • She loves grabbing at the doggies...she has got a few fist fulls of fur. Luckily the dogs have been really good with her!
  • She loves making shrieking noises and babbling away.
  • She loves the remote control...the one to the the T.V. (not the DVD or stereo), apparently the TV remote is much more exciting with all its colors!
  • She loves rice cereal....ummm....delicious!
  • She loves her excersaucer and Bumbo!
  • She can't quite fit into those 3-6 month clothes, leaving mommy a bit frustrated. Do I buy more 0-3 month pants, or hope that she will grow into her 3-6 month clothes soon! Poor girl is swimming in her clothes! Even our nanny Mary got a laugh!
  • She loves nanny (Mary), doing homework with uncle Colby, watching football with Uncle Colin, playing with Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Terry (too bad nana Reda and G'pa Jim aren't here)
  • Lastly, She is the best baby ever! (she is paying me back from my awful pregnancy!)
So those are the highlights on little miss Bry Pie! The joy of our lives (can you tell we are slightly obsessed with her??!) Can't believe 5 months have flown by.....

sad day

Just wanted to let people know (who were following Timmy's story) that he passed away yesterday afternoon. I periodically would check the caring bridge site over the weekend, and last evening I checked it and was so saddened to see the news. I am so glad that whole school was filled with a tie dye sea of colors on Friday and that Timmy got to come to school one last time to see his friends and teachers. Today at Normandale we are very saddened by the news, but remember how he was such a special boy, who showed so much courage and strength in his battle with cancer. He is now free of his pain and I know he is smiling down on all of us. We will miss you Timmy!

Hi Mommy!

Tie Dye Friday

Today is Tie Dye Friday in honor of Timmy (whom I mentioned in a previous blog). Timmy continues to show so much strength and will. Today our school is wearing tie dye t-shirts as Timmy would always wear his on Friday, when he went to chemo and when he was in school on Fridays. Please continue to pray for this special guy and his family.

I have attached my tie dye shirt (some of us ordered some special T-shirts) in honor of Timmy's day!

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Here is the attached caringbridge site if anyone would like to see the update or read the journal entries.

September

Mmm...Heidi the lamb!

Here are a few recent pictures of Brylee. She is really engaged and loves grabbing and playing with her toys. Of course, everything ends up in her mouth as well! She is also super fascinated with Conan and Rosie. She tracks them across the room and Rosie will come up to her and Brylee touches her fur. She did grab a chunk of Conan's fur last week, so I think he knows to stay clear, but Miss Rosie just can't get enough of Brylee. I think Rosie and Brylee will be great pals!

Look at my chipmunk cheeks!

Hi Mommy!
I love to sit in my Bumbo and spin my toy so I can hear the noises and see the lights!

Daycare

Brylee had her first day at daycare yesterday. Mary said she did great. She said she loved holding her and taking her on a walk, and Brylee slept in her pack and play for a 2 hour nap. Mary wrote us a page long log of the events from the day, which was nice to read when I brought her home.
I miss being at home with her, but I know she is in good hands! I guess that is the guilt the working moms have!

MN state fair and Erin's baby shower

Erin's baby shower-the whole gangChandra, Erin, and Laura
Chandra, Erin, and Laura

My attempt at making Erin's diaper cake...not too bad!Bry Pie at the state fair!
The end of summer has finally come. We had a great summer and had so much fun doing new things with Brylee. We went to the MN state fair the end of August. It was a bit cool that day, but was a lot of fun. Darryl and I ate plenty....cheese curds, deep fried banana split (new this year), tator twisters (new also), brownie, hot pretzel, etc. I love eating all the food! Brylee had fun people watching and next year I am sure she will love the animal barns! This past Saturday, my friend Laura and I threw a baby shower for my best friend Erin. Erin and I have known eachother since 6th grade (1990!). She is due with her first baby (a boy) the end of November, and I am so happy for her. We all had a good time, and it was great weather. Here are a few pics from the fair and Erin's shower.

4 months old...

Brylee turned 4 months old yesterday! I have mixed emotions about the fact that she is now 4 months old. I am sad that my little baby is getting bigger by the day, and also so excited to see her changing and growing up before our eyes. She practices her sit-ups and rolling over everyday. She continues to jabber and has even started giggling!

Darryl took her to her 4 month check-up yesterday morning. He said she was a good girl, even though she got shots. Brylee is now 24.5 inches and 13.2 lbs. She is at the 50%ile for both weight and height. The dr. said she is a petite little girl. I knew the height would drop off at some point....so, I guess she made it 4 months being greater than 50%ile, which will probably be the last time in her life! :)

Darryl is off with her this week, so we don't need to "officially" start child care till next week. She has been running around with her daddy....attending meetings, going to childcare at Lifetime while daddy works out, etc. I know they have a lot of fun together, I just wish I could be a part of it!
